Welcome to Week 109!
My thoughts go back to a stark neighbourhood – identical yellow buildings with numbers painted on them. I enter 109, the building where my uncle lives. It is a rainy day, trains are stuck on water-logged tracks, college is closed and I have walked on the tracks to reach there. My cousins are at home – thanks to the rains. We queue up for tickets to the latest blockbuster, but no luck – there are so many idlers like us. We decide to spend the afternoon around the carrom board or card games. I’m wearing borrowed clothes, as my wet dress is being ironed by my aunt – in an effort to dry it.
Back to the present – what if we had the internet and mobile phones at that point of time? Where are the wonders of those lost years? The words crossing my mind now are Back to Basics, Simplicity, Stories ….. No, I can’t have so many words as prompts.
So, here’s an image for this week.
PROMPT
As usual, there is no restriction on length or format of the piece. Write a post on your blog, and copy-paste the link here. If you are choosing a pingback, please check if it has worked. There have been instances of pingbacks not working in the past. Tag it ‘Reena’s Exploration Challenge’ for easy location in the blog roll.
I look forward to see where the picture takes you.

What is that taking back?

You inspired me to reflect back on my youth. “Taking me back” refers to re-experiencing memories.

I saw that in your piece, which I read after posting this comment. Enjoy the journey 🙂

Dreams
-are strange
they hold destinations
in a few lines on the palm
or flow out
like water
between the fingers
Dreams
-dewdrops swell into rivers
in your presence
then turn into a mirage
when you look away
