Better than Life

Lily could not recall the exact moment of flip-over, when her form changed with the existential challenge.

She decided to take no more.  Self-pity was criminal and cowardly. She watched over her body on the hospital bed, and was glad to fly high without an oxygen mask. The switch had been liberating.
