School provides the foundation of knowledge, as well as unconditional joy.
We, the Girl Guides and Boy Scouts were on a picnic in the summer vacation. One of the activities was a cooking competition. Tiny pots and other material was provided, and we had to create our own stoves with bricks and firewood. Nine pots were reported to be missing and a hunt organized for the same. Integrity and honesty are the guiding principles of the movement.
The culprits were found on the pavement outside the park. We were inspired by the recipe of a roadside vendor, and wanted to try it out. He was kind enough to let us buy raw material from him. It was the tastiest meal we had on that day. We were grudgingly, rewarded with a consolation prize, as taste buds won over the disciplinarians.

Sometimes breaking a few rules can lead to a much better outcome. Great story, Reena, and I love the haiku you finished with. 🙂

Our cooking at the Girls Guide Camp was a disaster. the food was half cooked and salt-less. we were scolded by our teachers.a different take on the prompt Reena.

There’s nothing quite like street food and it sounds as if they got theirs just right!

I do like this adventure! So many times the street vendor food is so very good, more so than in a restaurant.

Enjoyed this one! Have not heard of Girl Guides….just Girl Scouts. Are they different?
