“It’s not possible”, pleaded the advocate helplessly, “all proofs and witnesses are against you.”
“Tell me clearly if you cannot do the job, and I’ll hire another lawyer. I am paying you a bomb to manage the legal process.”
“Whatever has already gone on record remains unchanged.”
“Blur the background of incidents a little, circulate stories that support us and a new reality will emerge – one that proves innocence, or at least lacks sufficient evidence to prove guilt.”
“I need to hire a few journalists, social media influencers, and of course you know who … to get a favorable verdict.”

Sounds like the Republican Party.

It’s amazing how much they can get away with by blurring the details.

They specialize in that.

As if ripped from the headlines of pretty much everywhere. Let’s hope the lawyer declines, but on the basis of ethics!

Hope so 🤔 Thank you, Nicole!

“managing the legal process” so that a “new reality will emerge”… Yikes, this ain’t fiction!

It is not. A high profile woman who murdered her own daughter is trying to prove that the daughter is still alive and was seen somewhere. This is a real case, but can become a good story plot.

Such an interesting story. Rich and guilty is a rather unfortunate combination of characteristics.

And so the scales of justice are tipped. It’s the way of the world unfortunately.

The rich who are guilty seem to hire the best lawyers.

Their charges per minute are mind-boggling, but the rich hardly get imprisoned, unless opposed by strong political forces.

Alas, the system is self-perpetuating. The dishonest (or unscrupulous) are the only ones who would work for those who insist on winning at any and all cost.

I agree. It looks like systems are created with loopholes – for truth to fall through it.

They do say that BS baffles brains every time. Obfuscation is the order of the day.

It may have always been there. The difference is that scales of public opinion and law are tilted towards obfuscation.

It sounds like that lawyer is going to get replaced.

That ring true for our system too.

It’s true the world over. Objectivity gets blurred by too many opinions.
