I take pride in creating beautiful covers for household items – teapots, trays, scratched table tops or unsightly corners. It has evolved into a lucrative business, and my homemaker friends envy me for the financial freedom I gained through it.
“Do I get any plus marks for creativity?” I ask with a smile in one of those kitty parties where I sell my goods.
“Of course, Anita, we show the pieces with pride to our visitors.”
I don’t take pride in the covers I’ve devised though. Especially, the ones which conceal the mess my life is to present a confident exterior.
Making the outside pretty to make up for insecurity on the inside… Relatable.

This is why we choose kindness. We never know what someone is going through. Well done, Reena!

Made me think of the old advice on effective lying: decrease the amount of direct information is offered and work on misdirection (rather than denial).
Thought-provoking Six as usual!)
