long awaited bright light
filters in through dark cracks
of my worn-out windows
crevices on my ageing face
seek shelter from real worlds
I am what I was (I tell myself)
let’s wipe out all stories in between
New dawnings are welcome
to rearrange or mesh
to overwrite history
or start a story afresh
my grey head perks up
asking me to embrace my soul
tell them the value of vintage wine
what it takes to reach here whole
Why hanker for lost freshness of face
In maturity, I hold more than one ace
By God’s grace 😊
New dawnings are welcome
to shed a new light
stimulate new growth
uphold all that’s right
New dawnings are welcome… Excellent take, Reena.
