crackling logs rekindle thoughts
dying branches, twigs
gasping for last breaths before
tumbling into ash
-fireplaces bring no comfort
a soul cries aloud in shock
as it recalls death
in a previous lifetime
it takes time and love
-to rejoice in a new form
formation to destruction
cycles of nature
what’s sandwiched between layers
is the core of life
-cackling two faced energy
