Do I want to write a book
before I go away?
for that book
will die inside me…
but who cares really
for what I have to say?
It’s the map of
my brain synapses
of what was framed
in those spaces
before response
after stimulus
-somewhere in between
incoherence
and action
to make sense of life
it just had to be done
I know now
there’s no going back
to reframe or rewrite
then why bother
with painting transience
or a fading tail light
I might as well go
easy into the night
Die empty
feeling light…
Prompt line chosen
“Go on, get out! Last words are for fools who haven’t said enough.” Karl Marx
Excellent, Reena!

after death nothing matters, but during life you might as well believe it does

So, so moving…reaches right down into my soul. The last stanza is a home run.
