Morning glory

what keeps me away
from the ensuing day
blocking vision with a translucent veil
morning haze holds sway

holding breath in anticipation
I fail to notice
Moon’s quiet exit
to life’s next station

I tear through the fog
attack life with zest
It’s a reward for waking up
leaving behind a night’s rest

Now is the time to ink dreams
on consciousness, till they make
me an insomniac that beams –
to get not a slice, but the cake

  1. Wow, Reena! So many stunning lines – “Moon’s quiet exit
to life’s next station”, and your last stanza is awesome. It’s always a pleasure when you join in.
