I refuse to switch off notifications, despite all the lessons on building focus and concentration and effective time management that you keep showering on me.
I’ll still manage to complete my book, because I find something to inspire and give my thoughts a new angle.
I’d never have been your father, if I hadn’t strayed from my path on a safari, and met your Mom. It’s only the detours that show what life could have been, or the multifarious forms in which destiny manifests itself.
My Dad’s email ends with a famous quote,
“Every journey taken always includes the path not taken, the detour through hell, the crossroads of indecision and the long way home.”
I see the summary of a lifetime here, and am eager to see how his book depicts reality peppered with imagination.
Nice sentence: “I’d never have been your father, if I hadn’t strayed from my path on a safari, and met your Mom.”

The only universally applicable wisdom is the willingness to change constantly. Everything else is limited to its day and time.
