some day
when I’ve mastered
all forms of poetry
I will feel blessed by the Maker
God’s Grace
God’s Grace
will be needed
again, when I hunt for
publishers, opportunities,
success
Success
defined and how
where does it lie – in fame,
money or creativity
my call
my call
may be to teach
all that I learnt hard way
and there won’t be any students
Who cares?
Who cares
when publishers
call poetry a niche
and rate it lower than verbose
prose – Why?
Publishers probably only do it for money… that’s why writing prose will always be winning.

They spare no words to clarify that only prose sells.

Good luck to you. We have that need and desire to create, even if it will not result in commercial success. But if a poem touches someone, that is something, too.

Poetry is the art of the poets heart. No one can judge that. Also, there are very few, if any, wealthy “living” poets. 🌹

Pay no mind to any person who says Poetry is “niche” //// they don’t know what they’re talking about! Loved your poem.
