You are lost
if not held up by others
You fear
finding yourself
in my poetry
It may reveal a soul
hiding behind mirrors
skilfully covered with
stains on my attire
-scars of blame
for being happy with myself
for being lost in my own world
You feel threatened
by your own inadequacy
by your need for acceptance
by your emptiness
so you cast stones
in peaceful waters
to stir your own venom
toxify a clean pond
and find sludge
to stain my existence
You are lost
if not held up by others
You fear
finding yourself
in my poetry
I hope it’s not me… reminds me of a t-shirt I got. “Be careful so you don’t end up in my next novel”
