“Winning a beauty contest in a small town is giving you tinseltown dreams.”
“Watch me as the ripples grow into a splash, and then a storm.”
She did grow into a storm, as scandals surrounded her films and relationships. She had grown bigger than her own expectations.
They meet again, years later. She is honest enough to confess that there is no peace, despite the fame and wealth that surrounds her.
“You know what …. The waters where you wanted to create a splash are not the same. This is an ocean, not a pond. So, you’ll have to face tsunamis.”
Beautiful!

I like how you equate success with the ripples, waves etc. in water. She got what she wanted. The good and the bad.

A little fish in a big pond comes to mind. After reading your story I realise there is a price to pay for being famous.

I guess any famous person will tell you that – if you catch them in a right mood for an interview or Page 3 appearance.

I like the weather used with her story. You captured that feeling of being caught up in something that both takes over and consumes.

The narrative was so nicely spun through the water symbolisms – in fact is amazing how the story unfolded so well in so little words.
