Reena’s Exploration Challenge #180

This notification from WordPress infused a sense of warmth in me, two day ago.

I’ve been disciplined enough to post something every single day in the last one year. In the past, the continuity broke in a few months, due to travel or connectivity issues. The last one year has any way kept us glued to devices.

Does a number or notification like this really matter? The count will continue for some time, and then a reset to zero may happen. It is the way life goes.

We celebrate anniversaries of different kinds. Some couples celebrate anniversaries of their first date, the proposal day and so on … In the last decade, I’ve seen multiple wedding ceremonies of the same couple – one in the country of residence, one in the country of origin, ceremonies to comply with their respective religions, a legal stamping (registration) ceremony to enable applying for a visa to another country. To be honest, I’ve lost count. I may ‘like’ a Facebook or Instagram post, but find memory and willingness inadequate to wish the same couple so many times in a year.

I wonder how people who marry more than once manage these diaries. It must be important to tear off old pages, and start writing new ones. If they have children from previous marriages, and ex-couples continue to meet on a cordial note, do they celebrate divorce anniversaries? Does anyone know about the celebrations diary of Liz Taylor?

PROMPT #180

So, here we go with our prompt word for this week

Write about what milestones mean to you, ones already achieved, and the ones you would like to reach.

Write about a journey you can’t forget.

Post pictures or artwork relevant to the theme.

If you good at manipulating images in Canva, Photoshop, GIMP or any other software you use, play around with images to depict future milestones.

There is no restriction on length of the piece. There is no last date either, unless you wish to be featured in the Weekly Wrap.

Any post that is found to be offensive, vulgar or something that hurts common sensibilities will not be included. This needs to be a safe space.

The format can be fiction, poetry, anecdotes, memoirs, biographical sketches, essays or anything that you can invent.

Create a post on your blog, and copy-paste the link in Comments. In case you are using a pingback, do check back to see if it has worked.
