In the thick of it

Friends and relatives with no specific goals in life popped up. They were great human beings, and had stood by us through thick and thin, but lacked that vital ingredient for a sane existence – a purpose to live.  Things got complicated, as they expected me to join in the so-called ‘fun’.

Why are you working at this hour?

(I am self-employed. There are no fixed working hours)

Is there a webinar today?

(As if I do nothing other than webinars…)

Oh, you worked for 5 hours at a stretch. What have you completed?

(The problem is you don’t understand, or you would have known 5 hours is far too less for the mission I have undertaken)

I long to have an office, once again, where I have the luxury of being on my own.
