Troglodyte

His candour surprises me.

“How old are you?”

“Twenty four. Does it matter?”

“By this age, people have acquired a certain level of tact and diplomatic skills.”

“You find me brutal, don’t you?”

“Quite a troglodyte, by your expression …. I can’t think where to place you in the office.”

“It’s not about me, it’s you.”

“Now, what does that mean?” His eyebrows were raised quizzically.

“I can sense your discomfort in facing the truth. My presence puts your reputation at risk.”

“Hmmm…”

“I’ve grown up in political circles, not caves. Excess of anything spawns rebellion.”
