it happens when survival keeps you glued together
I know your dark secrets, and you know mine
You stay mum, and we won’t spill thine
I hate your darkness though, it’s sin forever
I know your dark secrets, and you know mine
I sinned less, there was no option you know
I hate your darkness though, it’s sin forever
Speaking up will pull all of us down together
I sinned less, there was no option you know
it happens when survival keeps you glued together
Speaking up will pull all of us down together
You stay mum, and we won’t spill thine
The pantoun is an excellent form to tell about such a maelstrom of darkness… it feels like people pulling each other forever downwards.

Your title line is the one most intriguing to me, too. And I love a pantoum, my favourite form. Well done.

A pantoum! Nice.
I like this – it’s dark and slightly disturbing. I’m left wondering who these people are, what they did? They’re not happy, but they’re bound together. Shivers.

Thank you, Sarah! These could be all the people who benefit from frauds, corruption, sexual exploitation or unspeakable crimes of a similar nature.
