“Why do certain things look so sharp and clear, and others get blurred in pictures?”
“It’s all a play of light, and good photographers learn how to manipulate it.”
“So am I learning …. But how do I decide what to focus on?”
Ted is more a philosopher than a photographer, and inclined to move beyond technicalities. It’s not easy teaching him.
“I’m waiting for your answer.”
“We don’t have answers to everything. Like why is the frog shedding a tear tonight?”
“Its creator made it do so. So can I decide what to focus on.”
An idea had taken shape.
A thoughtful story. I understood that when you focus on the little things we miss out on the big picture.

The egg image made me think of creative power, too! I like this philosophical take, as well as the dialog. I’d read a book about these two.

I see it simply as a self-realization on how to decide on focus. Before that, he was looking at his mentor for answers.
