Droplets

We saw the first rains of the season today – propelled by a cyclone called Nisarg (it means Nature). Guys are glued to TV sets checking the direction of the storm, and what damage is it causing on the way.

I extend my palm out to feel the glorious promise of rain – respite from heat, greenery and romance. I love to catch raindrops midway, as they shuttle between the earth and sky by changing forms.

The tenacity of raindrops is often ignored, as we revel in its touch on the skin, not thinking that it will go back to the clouds or the depth of oceans, leaving us behind.

today it rained dreams
tenderness between my palms
fleeting it may be

  1. A beautifully rainy haibun, Reena! I love the thought of extending my palm ‘to feel the glorious promise of rain’ and catching raindrops ‘as they shuttle between the earth and sky’. Let it rain dreams!
