Reena’s Exploration Challenge #135

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #135

Exploration Challenge #134 brought in interesting perspectives for me.

Reading about cosiness of a home made me question my own mental alignment.

Am I the only one who sees the bleakness or starkness of the surroundings?

Am I the only one afraid of getting lost in those environs?

Am I the only one hoping to find deep meaning in those environs, after a period of reflection?

PROMPT #135

For this week, here is a quote.

The field is wide open to you to mull over it, and structure your piece around it. It can be a loose structuring – any story/memory/anecdote that comes to mind. You may write a poem or essay based on it.

As usual, there is no restriction on length or format of the piece. Write a post on your blog, and copy-paste the link here.

If you are choosing a pingback, please check if it has worked. There have been instances of pingbacks not working in the past. Tag it ‘Reena’s Exploration Challenge’ for easy location in the blog roll.

      Someone called
      Was that you?

      a moon face in clouds
      the sky says it’s you

I wish for something every day
      The only desire is you….

Do I look for you out there?
Anonymous in my oblivion, that’s you…

Why do I nurse hopes of being found?
Notoriety in your space – that’s me

  2. Thanks for the prompt, Reena. I don’t think you are the only one who sees the bleakness or starkness of your surroundings. Even though I am safe and well, I’ve felt a certain malaise sometimes more often than not. It’s been a struggle at times to pull myself out of it. But my friends, my family, and my writing does help keep me balanced. I hope you find your way in navigating these times and come out the other side better for it, Reena. ❤

  3. Reena, about feeling the full brunt of our involuntary imprisonment and being held continued hostage by this monster of a virus, it is a matter of imprisoning that very reality in a cage. It’s a beast that could quickly get out of control. For myself, I’ve got a thumb pressed down firmly upon it, and there the thumb shall stay for who knows how long… I appreciate you being here and continuing to make us think about things. I do find that there are some prompts, here and elsewhere, I cannot go to right now.

That said, I like your prompt today and have a lot to say about it.
