A book is born

Sarah gives us a Roundabout in her Lucky Dip Challenge this week.

The Roundabout is a four stanza poem, with each stanza consisting of 5 lines. The poem is written in iambic and the lines have 4 feet, 3 feet, 2 feet, 2 feet and 3 feet respectively. The rhyme scheme is abccb/bcddc/cdaad/dabba. Roundabouts can be on any subject.

Did you see it coming?
It happened once again
night fell here
dreams so near…
It happened once again

fairies danced in sun and rain
monsters induced fear
stories born
golden morn
monsters induced fear

I embellish and smear
fingers, roses and thorns
adding bling
ropes and swing
fingers, roses and thorns

stories breathe, writer scorns
Yet … sees a book breathing
ink and pen
writer’s den
yet sees a book breathing
