Held hostage

nomadic instincts held hostage
In a self-constructed cage
by a force unseen, unknown
contains egos overblown

Its supremacy challenged,
the giant withdraws
cannot differentiate
friends from foes
unable to connect
of its fragmented
virtues and vices

mirrors crack on seeing
its unmasked face
reflect souls in all their shades
and trace
back thoughts
to ingrained fears
of external evil
while the root of it
lay within
