Never before has the country been so sharply and so vociferously divided into two camps. Social media is vitriolic. At the same time, people love getting doped with inane challenges- wear this, tag that person…
And now comes the mega Challenge from the political leadership – Switch off all lights at 9 pm for 9 minutes on 5th April (number 9).
It provoked a few lines, I won’t say inspired…
Never before did you say have we been so torn apart now switch the lights off I’ll know, enemies live in lighted parts like a threat in the guise of advice like a hawk’s eye in dark skies like fiction concealed in layers of truth like conspiracy of polling booths like veiled thorns under petals smooth like the moment when conscience cries Never before did you say Have we been so torn apart Now switch the lights off I’ll know enemies live in lighted parts
I think the “never before so divided into deux camps”, theme betrays your youthful years; i.m.h.o.. Vietnam war; civil rights struggles; post-reconstruction and jim crow; WWII (the president allowed the attack on Pearl Harbor because the notsees were so powerful that that was the only way he could get us into the war against ‘them’); ‘duh’ civil war- need I say more? Thanx for all you do. Have a great eve’ 🙂 reality

It’s like praying together to defeat the enemy, spreading positivity. Give people to do something like in our Movies’ ab issue duayen hi bach sakti hain.’

What is your view on Italy using flashlights?

I don’t have any context for that question. Can you give me the gist?

I think the solidarity activities are very important. To have the government come in and try to regulate it is just plain sick in my opinion. Would they go so far as to tally up who didn’t obey them, I don’t know. I remember there were riots in college towns here after sporting events where they were looking at security videos to try and identify people. To be honest, I don’t think there is any limit to what any government will do to keep control of the governed 😦

I’m confused, is this fiction. If not, this campaign is totally outrageous!

It also includes lighting an oil lamp or candle, taking inspiration from Italy where they use flashlights. Of course, the socio-political scenario is not the same.
