I hope and pray that all of you are safe and fine, wherever you are.
I’ve been doing fine, loving the private space it gives me without ringing doorbells. We live in a gated community, which is isolated in its own way, but further restrictions have been imposed. Domestic help has stopped coming. If someone orders food or household essentials, they go to the main entrance of the building to collect the parcel. No morning or evening walks and yes, that takes its toll in many ways.
Yesterday was bad for me. My phone stopped working. The repair shops around are all closed. My husband fixed it with the help of online videos, but it took time. The laptop and another phone are functional, and I have a large shelf of books for such times, but the main phone I use was missing.
Interestingly, my brother-in-law in another city decided to go ahead with the death anniversary rituals of my father-in-law. He performed the ceremonies in his house with the help of recorded mantras, and took all his brothers on video-conference for participation. It was technology being put to unconventional use, but it failed to enthuse me in any way.
I felt drowsy, and took a forenoon nap. Did not feel like dressing for the day, or doing the household chores. All this happened while my husband was working at restoring the loss. And then, realization dawned that I was struck by withdrawal symptoms or a mild depression, so to say. It creeps on us silently.
All was well by evening, and the phone is restored with partial data, but it gives food for thought.

Thank you! Some battery issues are still there, but Amazon is not delivering. Just managing with low use, and another phone.

I agree with Susi, I am glad for this prompt as well. Our county (includes Atlanta) is under shelter in place starting at midnight tonight. I don’t mind staying at home, but I have a mixture of uneasy feelings. This mess seems so inexplicable and who knows what to believe. I don’t feel depressed, however, at times I find it difficult to focus.
We live in a gated community, which has an Amazon hub for deliveries. I am very grateful for that. We get a code # on our phone or via email, which gives us access to our locker. Food deliverers, etc. are allowed to come onto our premises.
I’m not worried about myself, however, so many are suffering mentally and financially.
Undeniably, the world will never be the same and one can’t help but wonder what is life will be like once this has passed.
Stay safe and well, Reena.

I’m sure it will. I’m determined that way. I’ve been through worse.

I’m glad for this prompt. These feelings shouldn’t remain bottled up inside. Take care of yourself, Reena. https://iwriteher.com/2020/04/02/life-is-off/
