life, love, laughter
lilting merriment
surreal
slipping away in
somnambulistic silence
knowing nothing
of netherlands
but landing there
A leafless forest
lakes leaving earth
listening to
lazy lullabies
-Lifeless
life, love, laughter

knowing nothing

This is both tender (lazy lullabies) and sinister… sometimes life just slips away

I was floating away on lyrical words and lazy lullabies … until “lifeless” brought me to a screeching halt! Great write.

This is gorgeous, Reena. I love that the ending made me halt, almost horrified, and go back to read it again with that in mind. Very well done, as I now have two completely different poems in my head!

I got the sensation of floating in silence from the beginning to the end of your poem. I didn’t get the sense of lifelessness though….just a peaceful quiet. Lovely!

I see a piece as versatile and successful, if different people can find different meanings in it. Thank you, Vivian!

your final stanza was brilliant, like a leaf out of a midsummer night’s dream.

I enjoyed the musical quality of this poem, Reena, and found myself singing ‘la la la’ after I’d finished reading it! You’ve raised my spirit this dark morning with your lazy lullabies.
