“Check the expiry date before you consume that ice-cream. It has been around in the freezer for long.”
“I’m just keeping it outside.”
“But why?”
“You know who is visiting us today,” his look was sombre, “Tell me honestly, don’t you want frozen hearts to thaw again?”
For once, I had no answer. We loved our estranged children in equal measure.
Hope they all get together and have a great ice cream party (& I hope that it isn’t expired yet).

That is most important 😀 Certain things cannot be revived.

I bet the ice cream melts before their hearts do. Sad.

Hopefully warmth will come to those who need it and the grudges will be frozen in another time.

Hopefully, when they get together those long standing grudges will melt away!

At least they are hoping that it will be so.

Though … if that ice-cream has gone bad … it might ‘melt’ things that will not help melting hearts … 😉

I’m interested in your making an equivalence between melting ice-cream and melting hearts. Perhaps the symbolic act will remind both parents of the love they have for their children.

Perhaps a tub of Haagen-Dazs is just what is needed – for starters anyway.

I would recommend it all the way from starters to dessert. 😀😀

Lovely. I too like the idea of a frozen memorial in the form of unopened ice cream. Hopefully your characters will reconcile.
