“There is an alien in the sky.”
Paula needed excitement on a holiday, and this sounded like a perfect story.
“Well, is it speaking to you?”
“Not yet. See the dark reflection between the lights.. it is an unusual shape, stretching its tentacles.
I looked at the dark sky, and then the water Paula was focussed on. I saw a turtle waddling through. It could have been a crocodile or a shark to make the story enjoyable.
“Look up first, darling! You need to differentiate between reflections and reality.”
It was the first philosophical lesson for my five year old.
Stimulating both the imaginative and the analytical. Good mothering! (or fathering, since the speaker’s gender isn’t implied). Nice take on the prompt.

That’s a very clever and imaginative five-year-old. I bet she’ll be a writer when she grows up. 🙂
