Who raised a red flag
just before I jumped in?
false is the alarm
untrue is the scare
inflated is the claim
to ignore it, I dare
there is no face behind
a bad turn of events
they are all envious
my naivete laments
I’m young and brave
there are miles to go
stopping is disaster
it disturbs the flow
I’m back here again
bend down to look hard
stories of shattered glass
look for remaining shards
Who raised a red flag
just before I jumped in?

One has the tendency to ignore red flags when one is young and either hopeful or desperate. At least I did.

Most of us do it at that stage. Today, I even believe in ‘signals from the universe’ to go with positive energy.

I’m betting had someone raised the red flag, she would not have heeded the warning.

She did not ☺, hence retrospect thoughts…
