Waves

 sound waves
 moving through
 neural pathways
 leave impressions
 crash on the shore
 get washed away
  
 I move ahead
 but 
 the same lilting tunes
 awaken dead cells
 I thought
 had ceased to exist
  
 thankfully
 it’s a moment that passes
 I get back to life 
 as it is
 not what it
 could have been
