Does writing excuse watching?

i have measured out my life with coffee spoons
says mr. eliot
his spoons smaller than teaspoons
whereas i prefer a dinner spoon in favor of a fork
and measure out my girth alone with it
i have measured out my life with
steps taken on aching feet
