If you look deep enough

My eyes never lie.

I am the same – within and without, it you care to look deep enough.

If you ignore or hurt me, you don’t know what have you missed out on – a lifelong loyalty no human is capable of giving you. You just failed to look beneath the exterior.

Yes, all reflections look the same and swimming scares me at times. But I’ve saved lives, I’ve done it to keep my human happy. I’ve done it to guard the little one who loves playing in water. I’ve done it just to save my life.

Look into my eyes and see if you can hold my gaze for some time. Does the honesty scare you? Do you feel incapable of returning love? Do you think you can meet the challenge?
