Tears of joy are like the summer rain drops pierced by sunbeams.
– Hosea Ballou
indifferent smiles
remind me
I haven’t cried for long
-tears that welled
from depths
of innocence
-smiles that beamed
uncalculated, unconcerned
now a thing of the past ….
purity of raindrops
on my unmade face
and a toothy smile
minus lip color
makes a child beam
sunshine in her smile
perks me up
and I know
I’m whole again…
This is such a very touching poem. I love it!
