“Individualism is a form of escapism, if you refuse to take responsibility for another’s life and expect them to manage their own.”

“But are others not happy with their freedom?”

“Maybe, they need help. Can we dissociate ourselves from a collective human responsibility?”

“No. But you need to differentiate exchange from charity, and authoritarianism from voluntary help. Isolation is a reaction to imposition of connections.”

“One also needs to understand and separate vested interests from equations….”

“This is going nowhere. I’m off to the gym.”

  2. Wow, my mind is working overtime on this one. Back in the day, we wanted to escape from the “establishment” thus individualism was making its statement. IMO, addictism (your new word), is another way to refuse to accept responsibility. One can actually hide in addictism. Splendid take on the prompt. It’s always a pleasure when you join in. 🙂
