one step forward, two steps backward
till I know not where to go
lost map, broken compass, yet ….
the needle keeps me going
till I know not where to go
vision obscured by walls
the needle keeps me going
takes me somewhere, where I need to be
vision obscured by walls
a pointer to destiny
takes me somewhere, where I need to be
where Fate waits, next phase calls
a pointer to destiny
invisible, unheard, unknown
where Fate waits, next phase calls
Life restarts …..
invisible, unheard, unknown
one step forward, two steps backward
Life restarts …..
lost map, broken compass, yet …
The rhythm and dance of life–but we keep going. I like circling in this–the form and thoughts go hand-in-hand.

If it were only two steps forward one step back. Nice line: “vision obscured by walls”

2 forward, 1 backward – would be the route to success. I’m sure there are people who experience that. Thank you, Frank!

“one step forward, two steps backward” this line in itself relates so very well to the pantoum form! And I really like how you end it….with “and yet . . .” the words and the ellipsis make it continue on. Well done!

i really like the way you’ve created an atmosphere here of disorientation and going in circles. the pantoum is perfect for creating such an atmosphere. i want to read this a few more times over time. very skillfully done!
