No end

Alone in a foreign land, he does not know which numbers to call for help.

He was here to spend the holidays with his son studying here, and help him tide over depression. His son couldn’t find a job with new immigration policies in place, and the education loan taken back home was to be repaid. It ended in his son’s suicide today.

He recalled how he had tried to dissuade his son from taking up this post-graduate course. He did have a job offer in India, after graduation.

There is no end to the Indian dream for American imperfection.
