Escape

“The guy will come to clean the tank today. It is my chance to play dead and escape.”

“Don’t be silly, girl!” The coral reef spoke for the first time. “You will not survive outside water.”

“Aaahhh! That’s the power of bonding…. The guy understands our language. He will carry an open bowl of water in the car, and then, release me in the river. It is a pact we have arrived at.”

The doorbell rang, and she looked up with hope.

Oh, no! It is not the same guy. I might as well learn to stay happy in prison.
