Certain things don’t change

“Photography brings out the intricacies as well the concealed ugliness of objects. The colors are garish and the artificiality becomes glaring.”

“You have Photoshop and Instagram filters for correction.” Francis could not have been more disinterested in the verbalization of my thought process.

“The filters have long disappeared. I see stark reality in its true colors now, and feel as trapped as the goldfish in that bowl.”

“I’m fine with a divorce if you feel that sets you free. Let’s meet the lawyer this week.”

How I wished he had wanted to meet a counsellor instead. Certain things don’t change.
