Unfulfilled desires – hopeless
Vacillating action plans – rudderless
Wishes and prayer, floating in air – baseless
Xerographic copies of a lost past – meaningless
Years gone by – accretion of memories – futureless
Zillions of dreams haunt β but I am now lifeless
You took the most challenging six letters and made the ending so powerful! And “zillions” should have warned me of your final destination, but I was…clueless! (Until the second reading.) Great work.

I like the format of your poem, ending each line with a powerful statement in one word. Very effective for the intensity that I think you were going for. π

You chose a challenging end of the alphabet and as I write I realize that choice fits with the tone of the poem (end of the road ) though I would say the poem is successful.
