Death does not scare me. I am prepared for it anytime, any moment. But ….
I wish it is not painful. I wish that a long-drawn illness does not strip my family of all resources. I wish that I do not meet the people I’ve hated on the other end.
Death, allow me to remain what I am. But do I really know who or what I am? Can I discover something at the other end. Maybe, something better than life …. Can’t wait longer for you, Dear Death!
I’ve not reached the end
death will show many more skies
life, be not vain!
Reena’s Exploration Challenge #Week 43
This made me think of the quote by Woody Allen – “I’m not afraid of death; I just don’t want to be there when it happens.” But in the end the narrator accepts and even welcomes death. An amazing transformation in such a short tale.

Yes, we won’t be there as we know ourselves.

I don’t think I am scared of death when it happens it happens, you can’t prevent it. Like you I’d prefer to go quickly not wind down over a long period. My mother lay down one afternoon for a nap and never woke up. That’s a good way to go. I’m not sure that ‘life’ beyond death will be any better, I think that will depend on us. It’s interesting to speculate about though.

Yes. I read a point of view somewhere that souls do not become saintly after death. So, there is no point in worshipping all the dead, irrespective of what they did in life.

My wishes are similar to yours, with one addition; I wish that my family wouldn’t feel grief when I die. It’s a fruitless wish.

I understand that. Also, think about those who do not have anyone to grieve for them. Thank you, Jane!
