Floating Stories

“I hope my son is able to repay the student loan.” The mother prays, so does the banker.

life develops

in dark spaces

between colors of hope

“Congratulations, buddy! You deserved it, after all the midnight oil burnt.”

sleepless nights

dotted with nightmares

in waking eyes

I crawled through life

in tunnels of uncertainty

emerged at the other end

but not in one piece

“You want to marry this wastrel? Do you know how much I have spent on your college education. Find someone who matches your abilities and deserves you.”

demeaning voices

spurred me on

to meet you, love
