Darkness Within

Lord Shiva (a Hindu God) is referred to as Neelkanth (Blue Throat). The reference is to the poison he consumed to save the world. Ravens often make me create similar myths around them.

How much of darkness do they absorb, and from where? What do they represent? Can they really connect us to other worlds, but we fail to decipher the language? Are they a reflection of all that is dark and deep within our psyche, which we dare not acknowledge?

Someday, I hope to see a white raven and think that all negativity within me has been washed away. It will be a good omen. Till then, the shadows they cast will remind us that there are two sides to every coin.
