“The credit for this award goes to my Dad, who gave all of himself to raise me and promote my career,” said Angela, the beautiful winner of the Best Debut Award with tears in her eyes.
The father-daughter bond between the ageing actor and his budding star daughter was seen as exemplary. He had gone all out to help her develop as a strong individual. The audience was also aware of the terminal disease that he was suffering from, and that this could be the last award function he was seen in.
The moisture in his eyes was misinterpreted. His soul had been ripped apart the day he was informed by his ex-wife, that Angela was not his daughter, but the pain remained unexpressed, and he never backed out from supporting the kid he so loved.
I read this several times just to make sure I read it right, and not wanting it to really be true. Excellent SSS. This is so sad on many levels.

Wow. I did not see that coming.
I can’t imagine the pain, the feelings he must have felt upon hearing that news. It may be a cliche, but there really are times when love conquers all. I totally agree with Mimi.
Well done 6, Reena.

Well written story! I’ve known people in this position, and the ones with true love carry on, realizing that being a parent is more about the connection than the blood relation.

It is true about any relationship. Friends often share more than blood relatives. Thanks!
