Savior

Hunter enjoyed being perched in his owner’s lap right from birth. It gave him a sense of superiority, as he looked down at his siblings playing on the floor, giving him envious looks. He was gifted with this keen, sharp vision – his gaze directed with equal intensity at the refrigerator door and the birds on the tree outside. He had earned his name from this trait.

Hunter showed unusual warmth in Henry’s lap by occasionally turning up to kiss him. It was not very welcome while Henry was driving though. Today, Hunter showed unusual alacrity in jumping up and perching himself on Henry’s shoulder, making unusual sounds. Henry was startled, and hurriedly applied the brakes.

An accident had been averted. Little Hunter had acted as a savior today.
