I often wonder if it is appropriate to show raw emotion in a goal-driven world. Will I be seen as weak or stupid? Emotional manipulation has been couched in a refined term called emotional intelligence.
A frost starts covering the core of an individual, as soon as they learn this coveted art of emotional intelligence. I am not sure if the emotions buried underneath will come to life again, or be resurrected in a different form. Spring and summer will bring forth a brined, processed version called maturity.
Only infants give me hope, till they grow up.
terror of winter
life buried under snow
makes spines shiver
Unique perspective you offer! Better when emotional honesty melts hearts, instead of living frozen…

One can use “emotional intelligence” for manipulation.

EI, NLP, Body Language have all become tools of manipulation, since everybody is using it. There are charisma trainers.

Great haibun and haiku. So often we are covered in frost for so many reasons.

There is so much wisdom in this. Living as a slave to the expectation of “adulthood” can be so self-destructive. This happens in too often in the workplace.

You are right. It happens in the workplace, and then gets carried over.
