Carving an identity

“These are exquisitely beautiful pieces, but priced too high.”

“These are made of sand, not clay.”

“That makes it cheaper.”

The lady was adamant,

“No. The process is infinitely more complex and time-consuming.”

‘Then, why don’t you use clay?”

“Sand is amorphous, and carving a durable piece needs an understanding of the art, technique and painstaking efforts. I have carved an identity for myself in the same way. Tourists from abroad come here to buy my stuff.”

“That’s great! But the price can be marked to market.”

“I sell only to people who respect me as an artist, and businesswoman.”
