He who invented

the law of gravity

had not been blessed

with the pull

from the top.

The apple was imbalanced

with the weight

of tyrannical branches

and unthinking leaves.

They swayed in obedience

to the branch

which in turn

followed the wind.

The trunk acknowledged

the wisdom of the roots,

but paid obeisance

to the prevailing wind

in a false hope

of taking flight.

The apple decided to split

from the branch

and take a different path.

Anti-gravitational was the mind

It chose the road less travelled

And hit a scientist’s head.

The Law of Gravity had dawned.
