All the world’s a stage
and all men and women merely players.
famously said William Shakespeare.
This stage does not offer opportunities for a rehearsal. We just land in it, when the show, lights and loudspeakers are fully on. We play out our whims, fancies, attitudes, prejudices and then, blame the stage for being the ‘circumstance’, that we landed in.
Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
No. Shakespeare got it wrong. Life begins and ends with choice. We live, only as long as we choose. The rest is mere Existence.

Shakespeare’s words reminded me of when you plan out an argument with someone in your head – And then they fail to follow the script! 😂

It is all the more exasperating, when they do, unfailingly, without slipping on a word, for years and years… till you feel compelled to rewrite the script,…. and experience what you say 😊

Brilliant reflections on Life being a Stage — there is no dress rehearsal. However, if we are lucky — we surround ourselves with people who are in our corner and allow us the grace and space to be human — we are fatally flawed and deserve reprieve, and to give others the same grace. Lovely as always — thank you so much for joining us!

Well done, Reena. I like to say life is not a dress rehearsal, it is the real thing.
