If wishes were horses…..

The castle on the top of the hill, had kept her riveted for ages. She had heard stories about beautiful maidens being woo-ed by handsome princes, and taken there. She had waited for her knight-in-shining-armor, but he never came.

The valley in between was too difficult to be crossed. She was but a shepherdess, guarding her flock of sheep, and rushing back home to feed her physically challenged mother. Today, she stopped in her tracks on seeing a balloon-like thing in the sky.

“Please take me to the castle”, she implored, “I would like to live my own life now.”
