The Mission

The village had been deserted a few weeks ago, as terrorist threats loomed large.

His head struck a bag hanging from the ceiling. What could it be, in this abandoned place? His military training compelled him to check. It could be a detonatory device that would explode in a few seconds.

A heap of undelivered letters tumbled out – written by a girl to her lover, hoping that he would find them. His heart ached with thoughts of his lost love, and he picked up the bag – to be delivered at the given address.

His mission had changed. Love reigned supreme.
